Statement of Faith
The Bible
We believe in the verbal and plenary inspiration of the Old and New Testament. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible, and inspired; therefore, they are the final authority for faith and life. We believe in the sufficiency of Scripture. (Proverbs 30:5; John 17:17; Acts 1:16; II Timothy 3:15-17; II Peter 1:19-21; 3:15; Revelation 22:18)
The True God:
We believe in only one living and true God: one God eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 14:10, 26; 2 Cor. 13:14)
Creation
We believe God created this world and all creation from nothing (ex nihilo) in six literal twenty-four hour days. (Genesis 1-3; John 1:1-3)
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is God and the Son of God. He is preexistent as God and came to earth born of a virgin. Jesus Christ lived a perfect life and became the only and perfect sacrifice for sin. He was crucified, buried, and rose again on the third day. He is currently living in Heaven making intercession for us. (Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; 2 Corinthians 5:19-21; Galatians 4:4-5; Philippians 2:5-8; Acts 2:18-36; Romans 3:24-25; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5; 2:24; Hebrews 7:25; 9:24; 1 John 2:1-2)
The Fall and Sin
We believe that Adam sinned in the garden of Eden, and in so doing, as father and representative of the human race, caused sin to pass upon all men. Sin is not merely an act against God but a condition that all men are in and need rescued from. Death and separation from God are a direct consequence of man’s fallen state. (Genesis 3; John 3:17; Romans 3:23; 5:8, 12; 6:23)
Salvation
We believe that man’s only hope from sin is faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ took your place-- he paid your penalty when he died, and he conquered sin and death when he rose from the dead. No one can earn salvation or hope to be good enough to obtain forgiveness of sin. Only the substitutionary death of Christ is sufficient for sin. Salvation is a personal decision to turn from sin and to accept God's free gift. (John 3:16; 14:6; Romans 5:8; 10:13; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 50, 54-55; Ephesians 2:8,9; Titus 3:5)
Sanctification
We believe that because of the grace of God a believer can grow and have victory over sin in their daily life. It is natural for a believer to become more like Christ and less like this world. God's grace is evident when one yields to God’s Word and the Holy Spirit’s leading. (John 1:12; 2 Peter 3:18; Romans 5:21; 6:13; 8:28-29)
The End Times
We believe in a pre-tribulational rapture and a premillennial coming of Christ. (Daniel 9; 1 Corinthians 15:50-58; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; Revelation 20:4)
We believe in a literal/dispensational interpretation of the Bible.
Autonomy of the Local Church
We believe the local church is not subject, responsible, or accountable to any authority other than God and His Word in matters of faith and practice. (1 Timothy 3:15; Romans 13:1-4; 1 Peter 2:9-11)
